About the speakers:

Krister Kalda, TalTech

Krister Kalda is working at TalTech as a project manager in Smart City Center of Excellence, while also being a scientist at the Autonomous Driving Lab and PhD candidate at the Faculity of Engineering. While starting to work for TalTech 4 years ago, the first couple of years the focus was on international business relations as tech transfer officer, but after the Masters degree in Digitalization, the focus has shifted from administrative to academic, particularly to everything that has to do with transport and logistics innovation in smart cities. At the moment the main focus is on 4 Horizon projects, scientific experiments and of course writing articles about these.


Jan Hellåker, Chairman Drive Sweden

Jan Hellåker has been Chairman of Drive Sweden since 2019. Before assuming the Chairmanship, Jan was the Program Director during Drive Sweden’s first four years of operation. Prior to joining Drive Sweden, Jan spent 25+ years in advanced research within the Volvo Group in Sweden and USA, his last position there was Vice President of Transport Solutions & Services.

Jonas Stjernberg, Senior Vice President, Robots Experts

Jonas is a Partner at Robots Expert (REX), a leading Finnish drone expert company, helping organisations create value from and establish safe drone-enabled applications. At REX, he is heavily involved in demonstrating and shaping U-space – automated drone traffic management systems, in enabling Urban Air Mobility, as well as in the use of 5G networks for drone applications. Apart from his work at Robots Expert, Jonas is the CEO of BVdrone Oy, a drone operator focused on long-range, long-endurance remote sensing and environmental monitoring missions and the Chairman of RPAS Finland Ry, the industry association for professional UAV stakeholders in Finland. Jonas holds an MSc in Physics and an MBA and pilots both manned and model gliders.

Prof. Janika Raun, University of Tartu

Since June 2021 Janika is a postdoctoral researcher at the Ruralia Institute and Digital Geography Lab at the University of Helsinki, studying second home mobility, using different big data sources such as electricity consumption data, mobile positioning data and social media data. Janika is also a tourism geography researcher at the University of Tartu, where she leads the MARA project. Janika holds a PhD degree in human geography and regional planning (2020) from the University of Tartu. Her PhD thesis focused on the use of mobile positioning data for tourism destination studies and statistics. Before going to Helsinki, she was an active member of the Mobility Lab at the University of Tartu. Janika has also been teaching courses on human geography and tourism geography.

Viktor Skrickij, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University

Viktor Skrickijis a research director at a Transport and Logistics Competence Centre, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania. The main field of interest are automated driving; artificial intelligence in transport and transportation. Ongoing international projects where Victor is currently involved are Assets4Rail; MARA, OWHEEL; ePIcenter. 


Tobias Heldt, Dalarna University

Tobias Heldt, is an Associate professor of tourism working at Centre for Tourism and Leisure Research, Dalarna University, Sweden. Most of his work reflects the background as PhD in Economics, which he received from Uppsala university in 2005. His research includes economic impact studies of tourism and event, socio-economic and cost benefit studies of cycling and sustainable tourism transport. Tobias is currently working on projects related to infrastructure for tourism and mobility in rural areas; field experiments in context of recreational trails funding and sustainable food choices; use of multiple data sources to estimate tourism volumes as well as GIS-based platforms and tools for spatial planning and scenario analysis.
